A Look At The First Intel Android Powered Tablet

Android has become the Number One Selling OS for tablets this holiday season, but they won't stop there.  Now Intel is partnering up with them to build even better tablets.  This tablet has been in the works for sometime now because of the huge blow that Intel took with it's future computer market.  For those of you that don't know Intel was beat out to once again be the primary chip maker for windows when Windows 8 is release in 2012.  Who did they lose to? ARM chips which are known for their cellphone chips have taken that spot.  Therefore Intel is now entering the mobile market since they will not be making as many Computer chips as they use to.

This tablet is a pretty good looking start, but what's more impressive is it's speed.  The dual processor on this tablet outclassed all current dual processors on the market in the mobile industry.  Of course we are at a cross roads where the tablet industry will be splitting into dual core and quad core processors right now.  How will it the Intel chip "Medfield" stand up to a quad core processor?  We can only wait and see.

Galaxy Nexus = Best Phone of Today, Nexus Tablet = Best Tablet of Tomorrow?

Every has been interested to see the progress that tablets will make next year.  After a year that shifted from only having iPads to now having a wide variety of tablets that weren't so limited, its been a great time to be an electronic customer.  We did get a pleasant surprise today about one of the possible huge tablets of the next year. A Nexus Tablet will be coming out within the next 6 months.   Considering what an amazing job they did on Galaxy Nexus phone it would be interesting to see what they will come up on a tablet.

And the Biggest Tablet of the Holiday Season is...Not the iPad 2

That's right the biggest tablet of the holiday season is actually an Android tablet.  The Kindle Fire is currently selling about a million tablets a week.  The Kindle Fire is much easier to use than the iPad but has a lot more free apps.  Now it is still limited compare to most of the other Android tablets out there, which this writer would much rather recommend, but if you just want something to read books, play flash games and browse the web, the Kindle Fire isn't that bad.  What this does confirm however is that so called analyst were wrong when they thought iOS would be the dominant Tablet OS well into the 2013, while now it seems it might not even keep the lead after Q1 of 2012.

In the grand scheme of things iOS vs Android have very different philosophies.  Apple has maintained their philosophy of "It just works".  However the reason why Google is so much more of a successful OS is because it's philosophy took it one step further, "It just works with everything".
